Full Tilt Poker Pro Erik Cajelais has won the second event of the World Series of Poker Europe, one of the best-known poker series in the world, claiming his first WSOP bracelet.

With this award, and the accompanying $169K in winnings, Cajelais marks his first major professional victory after having come close several times in the past. The WSOPE Event 2 featured 159 players from all over the world and consisted of half Pot-Limit Holdem and half Pot-Limit Omaha while taking place in the Empire Casino in London w/ a buy-in of 2500GBP.

The first day of the tournament moved quickly and Cajelais had the largest chip stack throughout. On the second day, the rhythm was similar and the final table finished early. The player from Montreal began the final table in the seventh position and had to work hard to beat the other players at the table, a list which included names such as Howard "The Professor" Lederer from Team Full Tilt, Men Nguyen, and Hoyt Corkins.

It was not till the evening that the tournament ended with the game of five hands. At that point, Cajelais had a small amount of chips, so the odds were stacked against him. However, during the afternoon of the following day, the player managed to win a couple of good pots and became chip leader in the final moments, after Nguyen was out of the game in fourth place. When he was in front of the Swedish player Mats Gavatin, he was winning 10 to 1.

However, Cajelais eliminated Gavatin when he won a whole series in one hand of Pot-Limit Omaha, and took first place. If we take into account all of the victories Calejais has won in his career, his winnings now top $1,7 million.
